I want to know if I am experiencing symptoms of menopause?

I am 44 yr old women and i think i might be experiencing menopause. My periods are light one month and heavy the next. This last period is particularly unusual, because I am still spotting 10 days after my last period. I don’t mean to gross your out but just by curiosity I sniffed the toilet paper with my blood and it did not smell at all like blood. It had a kind of an antiseptic smell.

Just wondering what the signs & symptoms are of the menopause.I’m 46 this year & don’t know if some of the symptoms I’ve had for a year or so are the early signs etc.Can anyone help with this question?

I haven’t had my period for two months. I’m not pregnant because I’ve had my tubes tied for 18 years, and I took a test just to make sure and it was negative. I’m only 41 and my mother didn’t start going through menopause til she was in her mid 50’s. Could missed periods be a symptom of something else?

Can these be menopause symptoms?

My mom is 50 years old. Lately she started having hot flashes, sweating, insomnia, anxiety attacks and heart racing episodes. I checked online and found that those may be menopause symptoms, except for anxiety and heart racing. Can the latter two things also be menopause symptoms? Or is it something more serious? Are there any blood tests that she could take to confirm it is all due to menopause?

PS – she had a hysterectomy several years ago (ovaries still remaining after the surgery), thus she cannot tell whether her periods stopped.

I don’t like taking traditional medicines unless absolutely necessary. I have been using soy and black coshosh and continue to have hot flashes several times each day. I would greatly appreciate any information on this subject. Thank you!
